...and They Rocked! | Faith No More

Last night I was watching TV and Faith No More's "Epic" was on a commercial. What a great band. They were very versatile if you listened deeper into their albums than the singles.

My first time being exposed to them was at a party in little Dewitt, Iowa when they came on the TV. A friend of mine had been trying to tell me about them but couldn't remember their name. What he was talking about was the video for "Epic" which is what came on the TV. The Rap meets Metal thing threw me for a little bit but you can't deny how catchy the song is.

The only time I got to see them was when they were touring for the Angel Dust album. There are three things that I remember specifically about that show at The Col Ballroom in Davenport, IA. When they opened with a disco ball spinning and the music to "Dancing Queen" coming over the PA, stage diving cheerleaders from the local high school during "Be Aggressive", and "We Care A Lot" friggen rocked.

So let's look at some Faith No More live!

The long haired kid in the small Iowa town. "I dove into the 80’s Hard Rock head first…literally. In 8th grade I started letting my hair grow. I’ll be honest, the intentions were for a rat tail. Remember those? One strip of long hair hanging off the back as the rest was short? Yes, the rat tail was going to be my first rebellion tool against my mother. Then I realized it could be so much more. It was 1984..." The rest of the story...
